Part photographer, part adventurer, part Icelandic wilderness expert, Hjordis is exactly the kind of person you want by your side when you're getting married in one of the wildest places on Earth.

Born and raised in Iceland, Hjordis has spent much of her life exploring its mountains, forests, waterfalls, and rugged coastlines, usually with her dog in tow. She even has a degree in forestry and has worked on reforestation projects across Iceland. So when we say she knows the landscape, we mean she really knows the landscape.

Her photography background is just as interesting. She started out photographing concerts before studying Fine Art Photography and working in fashion and editorial photography. That combination gives her a beautiful balance of instinctive, documentary-style moments and thoughtfully composed, artistic portraits.

What Hjordis loves most about elopements is the freedom to slow down, explore, and let the day unfold naturally. She's happiest wandering through incredible scenery with a couple, finding those quiet little corners of Iceland where it feels like you're the only people in the world.

And if you're nervous about being photographed? Don't be. Hjordis has a wonderfully calm, easygoing approach and knows exactly how to guide you without making anything feel stiff or overly posed.

She's also the person you want around when Iceland decides to throw a little weather your way. Wind? Great for photos. Change of plans? There's always another magical spot around the corner. Her local knowledge, understanding of the terrain, and adventurous spirit make her so much more than just a photographer.
